  • Pre-travel vaccination counseling with epidemiological evaluation with reference to the destination, duration and type of travel, the risk of exposure in relation to the basic immune and health conditions of the traveler for the prevention of communicable diseases;

  • Pre-vaccination triage with assessment of the traveller’s state of health to exclude any contraindications to vaccinations;
  • Execution of the vaccinations provided for by the PNPV 2017-2019 and subsequent amendments*, mandatory and recommended for the end of the trip with co-administration of several vaccines in the same session and activation of any rapid (close) schedules, where necessary for the ‘last minute’;
  • Registration of all vaccinations in the company’s computerized program and in the Regional Vaccine Registry (AVR) system
  • Issuance of certifications of all vaccines administered and of the International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever on a special card approved by the WHO and the Ministry of Health;
  • Information and advice for travellers** on the main risks associated with international travel depending on the destination of the trip (infectious, environmental, food and behavioural risks)
  • Indications and prescription of antimalarial prophylaxis, where necessary.

VACCINATIONS GIVEN

Depending on the different geographical areas of destination, the following vaccinations are carried out:

  • anti-diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis-polio
  • anti measles – mumps – rubella – chickenpox
  • antihepatitis A
  • antihepatitis B
  • anti meningococcal A,C, Y,W135
  • anti meningococcal B
  • anti-typhoid/paratyphoid
  • anticholera
  • anti-pneumococcal
  • anti yellow fever
  • anti tick-borne encephalitis
  • anti-Japanese encephalitis
  • anti-rabies pre-exposure

How to access:

Vaccinations are carried out with :

  • prescription from the attending physician or
  • prescription of the vaccinating doctor (during the vaccination session)

Vaccines are part of the expense (ticket): payment can be made directly at the Vaccination Centre, on the same day as the appointment, thanks to the presence at the counter and Recup operator dedicated to the specific activity.


TIPS FOR TRAVELERS

The rules for a safer trip that will also be a better trip!

before departure:

  • contact the International Vaccination Centre at least one month before the date set for departure to arrange and carry out the necessary vaccinations and/or prophylaxis in time
  • evaluate the type of health insurance to be activated in relation to the destination of the trip

once you reach your destination:

  • avoid eating raw meat and fish, raw vegetables washed with undrinkable water, egg sauces and unpeeled fruit
  • drink packaged soft drinks and avoid tap and fountain water; do not use ice
  • use the condom in occasional sexual intercourse
  • bring antipyretics, broad-spectrum antibiotics, antihistamines and cortisone cream
  • bring the first aid kit with gauze, patches, disinfectant and syringes
  • bring mosquito repellents with 30-50% DEET protection and use mosquito nets where possible
  • prefer light and opaque clothes
  • use high protection sunscreens
  • perform complete antimalarial prophylaxis, if necessary, according to the indications received from the International Vaccination Centre

– once you return from the trip:

  • do not underestimate febrile episodes that may occur upon returning from the trip and contact your GP/PLS or request an Infectious Diseases Consultancy at the Infectious Diseases Unit of the P.O.F. Spaziani di Frosinone
  • do not forget to complete the vaccination cycles according to the appointments indicated by the International Vaccination Centre before departure.
