UOSD nad

The nad UOSD is a simple departmental structure within the Hospital Department. The activity of the structure complies with DGR no. 920/2002, Circular no. 16178 of 02/2006 and DGR no. 404 of 2013 on the Lazio Region Artificial Nutrition Route.

In the care activities carried out at home and in the clinic by UOSD nad operators, the following services are performed:

  • gastrostomy stoma dressing;
  • irrigation of gastrostomy tube;
  • home replacement of the 2nd implant gastrostomy tube;
  • pump feeder maintenance;
  • training for family members in the management of water pumps;
  • daily nutrition management family training;
  • sNG management;
  • sNG irrigation – SNG de-obstruction;
  • sNG positioning and replacement;
  • nE and NPT programming;
  • positioning of venous accesses: cannula needles and midlines;
  • venous access irrigation: cannula needles, midlines, PICC, Port;
  • sterile venous access dressings;
  • nPT and irrigation infusion management family training;
  • venous samples for laboratory tests;
  • speech therapy and dietetic support and intervention (speech therapist and dietitian).

Recipients

The recipients are all citizens who need outpatient care, nad or Clinical Nutrition and home care in non-ambulatory Artificial Nutrition patients.

Services / Activities provided

The nad UOSD provides for the placement and replacement, in the outpatient clinic where possible or in the case of non-ambulatory patients, of:

  • gastrostomy tube (peg) for NE (irrigation, dressing and replacement);
  • NGS (irrigation, dressing and replacement);
  • venous sampling in the clinic and at home;
  • nE and NPT management;
  • family training;
  • care giver education for patients and family members;
  • planning and prescription of the Therapeutic and Nutritional Plan;
  • prescription of Presidiums and Nutritional Products;
  • nad Assessment and Control visit in the clinic, at home and in residential facilities;
  • specialist consultations in the Hospital.

How to access

Access to the nad UOSD takes place with a doctor’s request for the outpatient activity of Clinical Nutrition (obesity and overweight – Tuesday and Thursday 14:00 – 15:00 – telephone: 0775.2072586) while for Outpatient Artificial Nutrition with a doctor’s request. For home activities, delivery of the attending physician’s request to the PUA (Single Access Point – telephone: 0775.2072587).

Reception Time

The UOSD nad receives users every day from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.
