UOS Safety, Prevention and Protection Service

The Prevention and Protection Service is used by the Employer with the tasks assigned by art. 33 of Legislative Decree no. 81 of 9 April 2008 and performs the function of technical consultant of the same and of the Strategic Management, as well as of the Company as a whole, regarding the correct application of the regulations in force on health and safety in the workplace. For the full and effective implementation of the regulatory provisions, the General Manager provides for the organisation of the Prevention and Protection Service (Article 31 of Legislative Decree no. 81/2008) and the designation of the Data Processor (Article 17 of Legislative Decree no. 8/2008).

Tasks

  • Identify the risk factors and assess the risks in collaboration with the competent doctor and prepare the relevant document
  • Identify measures for the safety and health of work environments
  • To elaborate, to the extent of its competence, the preventive and protective measures and the control systems of the same
  • Develop security procedures for the various company activities
  • Propose information and training programs for workers
  • Participate in consultations and regular meetings on occupational health and safety
  • Provide workers with the information required by current legislation
  • Process the DUVRI on behalf of the client employer and the RUP

Collaboration features

  • Interact, within the scope of their competences, with other Services/Operating Units
  • Develop written procedures related to evacuation-emergency plans based on information received from other company facilities
  • Participation in committees and working or evaluation groups
  • Drafting of procedures with working groups coordinated by the Strategic Directorate, Presidium Health Directorates, Delegate Managers and UOC/UOS/UOSD Directors

Activity

  • Drafting and updating risk profiles
  • Drafting and updating of the files attached to the DVR for each company structure
  • Drafting and updating of specific risk assessment documents
  • Visits to work environments for surveys useful for risk assessment
  • Visits to workplaces together with workers’ representatives following requests/reports
  • Visits to workplaces for the expression of opinions
  • Expression of opinions on PPE, work equipment, safety aids, hazardous situations for workers
  • Design of occupational health and safety training courses
