Until now, patients in the province had to go to other centres in the Region to collect stem cells. From today, however, it is possible to carry out the entire care process in Frosinone: a great advantage in terms of time for people who will be able to carry out the entire process near home and their family affections.
All this has been made possible thanks to the certification that the National Transplant Center and the National Blood Center for the collection and transplantation of autologous stem cells has conferred on the Department’s Transfusion Service, together with the Department of Hematology, of the ASL of Frosinone.
Autotransplantation is a fundamental procedure in the treatment of many hematological diseases, including multiple myeloma and lymphomas, and increases the possibility of complete remission of the tumor.
A new milestone achieved thanks to the commitment of all the medical and nursing staff of the Transfusion Service and the Haematology Department of the ASL of Frosinone that allows a further reduction in passive mobility and migration of our fellow citizens to other health facilities in the regional territory but also beyond.
An improvement in the healthcare offer, in favour of the population, by the Department of Diagnostics, Pharmaceutics and Research.
The Strategic Management of ASL expresses satisfaction for having achieved this important objective, also achieved thanks to the work done by the previous management.
