Adoption Procedures

The Integrated Working Group for Adoption (GILA)of the ASL Frosinone is composed of Psychologists and Social Assistants of the ASL Family Consultants who for several years have been involved in accompanying and supporting couples who aspire to become adoptive parents and adoptive families.

GILA has its headquarters in Via Mazzini , Frosinone,  (former hospital), with specific institutional, coordination and secretarial tasks.

Adoption is a legal institution regulated by a national law (L.184 of 1983) and amended by subsequent L.476/1998 L.149/2001 with the purpose of ensuring a family for a child who lacks it or who has one that is not able to provide the necessary care for his growth needs.

It is important to keep in mind that the right to adoption therefore belongs to the child and not to the couple who intends to adopt.

Adopting means giving a child the opportunity to grow up in a family that is willing to take care of him, welcome him with its history, its origins, its characteristics and create together a bridge between past and present.
