Healthcare Assistant Day: AsNAS celebrates with a short video that focuses on the recipients of the Healthcare Assistant’s professional intervention

Healthcare Assistant Day is an annual event established with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of this figure who works in public health. The date chosen for  the anniversary is 21 November, which symbolically recalls an important event of 1986: the signing of the “Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion”.

This document is still today one of the cardinal points for Healthcare Assistants, professionals who have always had a vocation oriented to the issues of well-being and who for over a hundred years have been committed to the protection of health and social equality. In this sense, this figure “builds” health by enhancing personal and social resources and preserving and enhancing the physical abilities of each one.

Being a Healthcare Assistant means listening, supporting, guiding and protecting people, families and communities. The latter are the focus of the short video created by the National Association of Healthcare Assistants (AsNAS) to celebrate the 2022 edition of the Day dedicated to the profession.

This year’s Healthcare Assistant Day is enriched by the 25thanniversary of his professional profile, issued in 1997 by the Ministry of Health, which unequivocally recognizes him as the main professional called to work, on the territory, in the field of social medicine, hygiene and public health, epidemiological research, prevention, education and the promotion of individual, family, group, community and institutional health.

The National Governing Council and the AsNAS regional offices wish each colleague a good Healthcare Assistant Day as a sign of awareness and awareness of their professional identity.
