The appeal of the head of the Coordination of vaccination activities, Dr. Maria Gabriella Calenda

With the arrival of the autumn-winter period, the possibility of outdoor life will decrease and the chances of staying indoors will increase, in some cases, without more obligation than the protection measures previously adopted. All this will increase the risk of disease, even for the simultaneous circulation of influenza and seasonal viruses.

Therefore, people over 60, frail people over 12, caregivers, health professionals and pregnant women should not hesitate to receive the fourth dose of the vaccines currently available, which offer a great opportunity to strengthen the immune response against the virus and its variants, with particular protection against serious complications of the disease”.
